A design and build project for a private client in one of the most exclusive private estates in Surrey. This project is currently under construction and due for completion in summer 2018.
I heard about Iconic through a friend, and as a first step instructed them to obtain planning permission for the new house. Having heard about the various possible pitfalls from friends, I had concerns about the usual methods of procuring a building like this and so was looking for a company that I could have confidence in. Whilst I was waiting for planning permission to be granted, I met with another of the Iconic Partners, Nick Bird, who put forward a detailed proposal for a pre-construction costing exercise to help establish my initial budget and then offered a “Management Contracting” service to deliver the build itself, on a fixed fee basis.
We are currently two-thirds of the way through the project and so far Iconic has taken a lot of pressure off me and work well with my Interior design team which has been very welcomed. They have provided additional value by advising me on the specification to help get the best value from the budget. I also have a dedicated Site Manager who is based on site and Nick Bird deals with all other aspects of the project personally. They always respond quickly if I have concerns or questions.
In addition, they have considered and managed my neighbours as well as the roads committee, both of whom are happy with the running of the project. I receive a monthly cost and project report which has given me confidence that I’m getting value for money.
At the time of writing this, the project is on schedule and I am seeing the benefit of having an experienced, no-nonsense, site team!
